These activities reflect his standing as a popular and cultural figure in the city of Saqqez and the Kurdistan region.

Going beyond a conventional commemoration, these events emphasized the continuation of his intellectual and cultural path and his ongoing efforts to preserve indigenous identity.
Loghman Naderpour; A Figure in the Realms of Culture, Art, Education, and Sports:
Loghman Naderpour was a well-known cultural, artistic, educational, and athletic figure from the city of Saqqez who engaged in writing, research, photography, graphic design, education, and sports. He played a valuable role in image documentation, researching indigenous culture, safeguarding Kurdish cultural heritage and folklore, and educating and fostering the younger generation in Saqqez.
The prominent dimensions of his activities and impact can be examined across several axes:
● Visual Narrator and Cultural Memory: Through years of activity in photography, graphic design, and documentation, he captured and preserved a vital segment of the landscapes, rituals, figures, and indigenous lifestyle in Kurdistan through his photos and graphic works. These creations form part of the region's visual and historical memory.
● Culture and Folklore Researcher: Naderpour harbored a serious commitment to safeguarding oral heritage, customs, and Kurdish folklore, working actively to identify, record, and transmit these cultural elements to future generations.
● Teacher and Sports Coach: His activities were not limited to art and research; for years, he served as an educator teaching the younger generation, while also accompanying teenagers and youths in the field of sports, playing a role in their training and development.
The ceremony held in Saqqez was the first memorial and exhibition of Loghman Naderpour’s works and memorabilia following his passing. Naderpour passed away in Saqqez in January/February 2026 following a prolonged battle with cancer—at a time when the internet in Iran was cut off and a conflict was underway between the Islamic Republic of Iran, the United States, and Israel.
The holding of this ceremony and the exhibition of his works served as an opportunity to review the activities and cultural-artistic legacy of this Kurdish figure—a legacy vital to recording collective memory, safeguarding indigenous culture, and transmitting cultural values to future generations.
