September 28, 2026 — Parviz Bangini, a Kurdish citizen from Bukan, was sentenced to eight months of discretionary imprisonment (Habs-e Ta'ziri) by the Revolutionary Court of Bukan on charges of "propaganda against the system."

An informed source confirmed the ruling to Kurdpa, stating: "Parviz Bangini, a Kurdish citizen from Bukan who was arbitrarily arrested in February 2026 and later temporarily released on bail after months of arbitrary detention, was recently sentenced to eight months of discretionary imprisonment by the Revolutionary Court of Bukan, presided over by Judge Mehdi Fakhri, on charges of 'propaganda against the system.'"

On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, Bangini was arrested after Ministry of Intelligence agents raided his family home without presenting a judicial warrant and transferred him to an undisclosed location. During the raid, security forces unlawfully confiscated his personal mobile phone as well as those belonging to all members of his family. Additionally, several members of his family were subjected to physical assault during the operation.

After spending several months in arbitrary detention, he was temporarily released on bail pending his trial.
