August 27, 2026; Over recent days, "Mansour Karbalai", a Kurdish citizen from Miandoab who was sentenced in October 2025 by Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Mahabad to 10 years and 1 day in prison, was arrested without prior notice of execution of sentence, transferred to court, and subsequently sent to the Central Prison of Boukan to begin serving his sentence.

An informed source confirmed this news to Kurdpa, stating: On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, "Mansour Karbalai", a 30-year-old Kurdish citizen, son of Mohammad and resident of "Sarchnar" village in Miandoab County, was arrested by security forces without prior notification of his sentence execution, brought before the court, and then transferred to Boukan Central Prison.

Kurdpa had previously reported on October 26, 2025, that seven Kurdish citizens were sentenced by Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Mahabad, presided over by Judge "Ahad Siyami". According to those rulings, "Kaveh (Kavis) Abdollahzadeh Aqdam", 40, from "Tershkan" village near Mahabad, was in absentia sentenced to death on charges of "Bagh-y" (rebellion) after fleeing Iran due to security pressures following temporary release. Meanwhile, "Yousef Mam-Qaderi", 40, and "Hemen Mam-Qaderi", 31, both from Boukan, "Salar Bayazidi Azar", 36, from "Laj" village near Mahabad, "Mansour Karbalai", 30, from "Sarchnar" in Miandoab, "Hassan Mamil-Azar", 45, and "Salar Seyyed-Rahimi", both from "Gavmish Goli" near Miandoab, were each sentenced to 10 years and 1 day in prison on charges of "acting against national security and membership in an opposition Kurdish party."

These seven Kurdish citizens were arrested between June 25 and June 30, 2022, by security forces without a judicial warrant and transferred to the Intelligence Office detention center in Urmia for interrogation. During their detention at the Urmia Intelligence Office, they were subjected to torture for forced confessions and deprived of access to legal counsel and family visits. Following interrogations, they were transferred to Boukan Prison and temporarily released on heavy bail pending trial.

"Mansour Karbalai", son of Mohammad from "Sarchnar" village, Miandoab, was initially arrested on June 30, 2022, by security forces without a warrant and transferred to an unknown location before being temporarily released on heavy bail.
