Urmia; Temporary release of Sayad Darvishi with a one billion rial bail after nearly two months of detention

On Monday, January 1, Sayad Darvishi, the brother of Farjad Darvishi, one of the martyrs of the revolutionary uprising of Jin, Jiyan, Azadi in Urmia, was temporarily released from Urmia prison after nearly two months of detention with a one billion rial bail.

According to an informed source to Kurdpa; Sayad Darvishi was severely tortured and interrogated during nearly two months of detention and interrogation in solitary confinement in the Urmia Intelligence Detention Center; So much so that the interrogators had cut off the picture of his brother Farjad Darvishi, who had tattooed on his hand. Mr. Darvishi has also lost a lot of weight.

Sayad Darvishi was deprived of the right to access a lawyer and visit his family during nearly two months of detention. During this time, his family, despite repeated visits to security and judicial institutions in Urmia to find out about the fate of their child, not only did not receive any answer and did not even know what charges and where their child was detained but they were threatened to refrain from interviewing with the media.

In November 2023, security forces arrested Mr. Darvishi without presenting a judicial order in one of the streets of Urmia and transferred him to the Urmia Intelligence Detention Center for interrogation.

On the night of Tuesday, September 19, 2022, Farjad Darvishi, 23, from the village of "Balu" in Urmia, lost his life as a result of shooting by security forces - suppressors during the revolutionary uprising of Jin, Jiyan, Azadi in the Valiasr neighborhood of Urmia.
