March 14, 2026 – Following the military attacks by the United States and Israel on Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) bases in the "Sarshiv" region of Marivan, including the military base located in the village of "Gugje", and after the entry of IRGC military forces into this village along with military equipment and their deployment in locations including the village mosque, the village residents stood against the presence of the military forces through collective protest and unity, ultimately succeeding in driving the military personnel and their equipment out of the village.

An informed source, while confirming this news to Kurdpa, stated: Following the military attacks by the United States and Israel on IRGC bases in Marivan and the destruction of the "Gugje" village military base, IRGC military forces entered the village with military equipment to convert the village into their military headquarters and deployed in locations including the mosque.

According to this source, the village residents stood against this action with unity and collective protest; a protest that was met with violence and gunfire from the IRGC military forces, but ultimately, the village inhabitants succeeded in driving the military personnel and war equipment out of the village.

The source added that currently, all military forces along with equipment have left the mosque, the school, and even the village's military base. According to the source, the number of these forces is estimated to be around 120 IRGC military personnel along with military equipment.

Based on the principles of human rights and International Humanitarian Law, including the rules set forth in the Geneva Conventions, parties involved in armed conflicts are obliged to refrain from the military use of residential areas and civilian locations such as mosques and schools, and to prioritize the security and lives of civilians. Furthermore, the presence and deployment of military forces in residential areas can expose civilians to the risk of military attacks.
