Saman Ghazali, a former political prisoner, was sentenced to eight months in prison and one year banned from journalism by the first branch of the Mahabad Revolutionary Court on the charge of "propaganda against the regime".

 On Saturday, November 26th, this civil activist from Mahabad was released from the prison of this city after posting a bail of one billion tomans.

 Saman Ghazali was transferred from Mahabad prison to IRGC intelligence detention center in Urmia on Sunday, October 2nd.

 Mr. Ghazali was arrested by the security forces on Sunday, September 25th, and was taken to Mahabad prison.

  This 34-year-old citizen was severely tortured during his detention.

 On Wednesday, June 30, 2021, this civil activist was pardoned by the judiciary after 9 months of imprisonment and was released from Mahabad prison.
