Kurdpa - Iranian Kurds gathered in front of the Turkish embassy on Wednesday in Tehran to protest the killing of Kurdish civilians in Turkey.

The Mehr News Agency reported that the Kurds were demonstrating against last week\'s bombings. The Kurdish Perspective Website reports that some of the protesters were beaten by Islamic Republic police.

Last week, Turkish bombers attacked the Kurdish region bordering Iraq, which led to the death of 35 civilians. Turkish Prime Minister Receb Tayyip Erdoğan expressed grief over the event, and President Abdullah Gol extended his sympathy to the families of the bombing victims.

The Turkish military announced that the attack was aimed at PKK forces, an organization the Turkish government regards as a terrorist group.

The civilian deaths triggered protests in Istanbul and other Turkish cities, and the Kurdish MP in Turkey\'s Parliament wrote to Ban Ki-moon, the UN Secretary General, to initiate a fact-finding probe.
